Gluten Free Oat Muffins with Chocolate Chips

These gluten free oat muffins with chocolate chips are sweet, moist and very easy to make. The addition of gluten free oats means that they are a source of fibre, B vitamins and manganese; so these tasty muffins also have added nutritional benefits.

  • 225 g gluten free self raising flour
  • 120 ml rapeseed oil
  • 2 eggs lightly beaten
  • 160 g light brown sugar
  • 200 g natural yoghurt
  • 80 g gluten free porridge oats
  • 200 g milk chocolate chips ensure gluten free


  • Preheat the oven to 220°C/200°C Fan/Gas 7 and fill a muffin tray with 12 paper cases.
  • Sieve the gluten free flour into a large bowl. Stir in the oil, the lightly beaten eggs and 130g of the light brown sugar until just combined.
  • Stir in the yoghurt, 60g of the gluten free porridge oats and the chocolate chips.
  • Spoon the mixture into the muffin cases (3/4 full) and sprinkle with the remaining brown sugar and oats.
  • Bake on the middle shelf of the oven for 15-18 mins, until a skewer comes out cleanly when inserted in the middle of the muffins.
