Elevate your Sunday roast game with these delicious gluten free Yorkshire puds.
Ingredients
- 100 g gluten-free self-raising flour blend
- 1/2 tsp salt
- pinch of white pepper
- 2 eggs
- 250 ml milk
- oil (e.g. olive oil) to cook
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C Fan/Gas 7.
- Sift the flour into a bowl. Add the salt, pepper, and eggs. Beat with a balloon whisk to combine.
- Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly, to create a smooth batter. Leave the batter to stand for ten minutes.
- Add two tablespoons of oil into each of the cups of a muffin tray (6 cups in total).
- Place the muffin tray into the hot oven and leave for 5–10 minutes, until the oil is very hot.
- Carefully remove the muffin tray from the oven. The oil should be bubbling.
- Pour approximately 30ml of batter into each muffin cup, and then carefully return to the oven to bake for 10–15 minutes, until the Yorkshire puddings are risen and golden-brown.
- Remove from the oven and serve immediately with your favourite roast and lashings of gravy.
Notes
- The trick to perfect Yorkshire puddings is ensuring that the oil is extremely hot.
- Avoid opening the oven door for at least 10 minutes, because this will prevent the puds from rising as desired.
